Ex-chairman of Bajaj Group Rahul Bajaj passes away

Former chairman at Bajaj Group Padma Bhushan Rahul Bajaj passed away at the age of 83 in Pune on Saturday, February 11. A statement from the Bajaj Group said that the industrialist died in the ‘presence of his closest family members.’

“It is with deep sorrow that I inform you about the passing away of Shri Rahul Bajaj, husband of the late Rupa Bajaj and father of Rajiv/Deepa, Sanjiv/Shefali and Sunaina/Manish. He passed away on the afternoon of 12th February, 2022 in the presence of his closest family members,” a statement from Bajaj Group read.

Bajaj had pneumonia and also suffered from a heart problem. He was admitted to the hospital for last one month, said Dr Purvez Grant, the managing trustee at Ruby Hall Clinic.

Rahul Bajaj was born on June 10, 1938. Bajaj had completed his degree in Economics and Law. He also completed his MBA from Harvard University in USA.

He joined Bajaj Auto in 1968 as an executive officer and since then was instrumental in making Bajaj grow manifold in the automotive industry.

In 2001, Rahul Bajaj was awarded the Padma Bhushan.
Last year, Bajaj had resigned as the Chairman of Bajaj Auto. He was in charge of Bajaj Auto for over five decades.

KK passed away at the age of 53 in Kolkata

Renowned playback singer Krishnakumar Kunnath, popularly known as KK, passed away at the age of 53 in Kolkata. The singer performed at Nazul Mancha auditorium on Tuesday (May 31). He went to his hotel after his performance and collapsed. He was rushed to Calcutta Medical Research Institute (CMRI) at around 10:30 pm, where he was declared brought dead by the doctors. The exact cause of his death is unknown as of now.

Shane Warne, the legendary Australian spinner, passed away at the age of 52 after suffering a suspected heart attack, his management has confirmed.

A statement by the managenent read: “Shane was found unresponsive in his villa and despite the best efforts of medical staff, he could not be revived. The family requests privacy at this time and will provide further details in due course.”
