He came, he sang and he conquered hearts, and how! Even the rain gods waited for the singing sensation of the nation Arijit Singh to sing ‘Kabira Maan Jaa’ and ‘Channa Mereya’ before they showered their love on him in Nagpur on Sunday evening. Even as Arijit had to end his show abruptly (only a few minutes before the scheduled time though), he didn’t disappoint his fans and quickly sang his two famous songs – ‘Kabira’ and ‘Channa Mereya’ – against the backdrop of cheers and seetees by thousands of Nagpurians at Jayanti Nagari 7.
A few minutes before the show was supposed to end, Arijit was told by his colleagues to end the show as ‘it could have been a bit dangerous to continue the show’ because the weather had suddenly got quite windy. “Kuch Nahi Hoga (nothing would happen),” said Arijit to the swinging crowds and started singing ‘Kabira,’ as he had promised the audience to sing the song at the end of the show. “The show will end when I sing ‘Kabira’ as I always end my show with it,” Arijit had said, when the audience had cheerfully requested for the song in the beginning of the show. But the heartthrob singer finally ended his first date with Nagpur by singing: ‘Achaa Chalta Hoon, Duaon Mein Yaad Rakhna…. Channa Mereya.’
After missing the opportunity to perform in front of his fans in Nagpur for a couple of times in the past, singing sensation Arijit Singh was a bit worried as the clouds of uncertainty hovered over his maiden show yet again! The sporadic rains in Nagpur for past few days had left Arijit and his fans in quandary but the fans and the star seemed to be prepared, alike! While the fans, full of excitement, thronged the venue in large numbers, the star singer put his best foot forward as he finally got to regale Nagpur on June 3 at a live concert organised by Abhijit Realtors and Infraventrues Private Limited to launch its luxurious township – Jayanti Nagari 7. The wait for the melodious singers concert in Nagpur was all worth it as Arijit took his fans on a mesmerizing musical journey with his melodious renditions, his charm and his unmatched energy.
When Arijit took to the stage to perform at 7ish in the evening, everything was in sync to make his concert one of the most memorable live concerts Nagpurians have witnessed till date. The huge stage, thousands of Arijit fans and the cool breeze (owning to early monsoon in Nagpur) made for a perfect setting for an unforgettable evening. Arijit kick started his performance with his famous song Ae Dil Hain Mushkil? and that itself was enough to take his fans into a musical trance. And as the singer sung his famous songs one after the other, his fans sung along.
The township was launched by Nitin Gadkari (Minister for Road Transport & Highways, Shipping and Water Resources, River Development and Ganga Rejuvenation) in the presence of Chandrashekhar Bawankule (Minister of Energy, New and Renewable Energy), Vijay Darda (Former Rajya Sabha MP), JK Majumdar (Chairman, ARIPL), Abhijit Majumdar (Managing Director, ARIPL), Jayanti Majumdar (former corporator), Inu Majumdar (CEO, 91.9 Radio Orange) and Manish Agrawal (GM, Future Group).
Speaking about Jayanti Nagari 7, Gadkari said, “The project is very special and important as it’s situated right in the centre of the New Nagpur region.” Showering praises on Abhijit Majumdar, the man behind Jayanti Nagari 7, Gadkari added, “People look up to Abhijit, respect him and trust him. Normally, I’m apprehensive when it comes to builders as we get a lot of complaints against them but that’s certainly not the case with Abhijit, who has earned a reputation for delivering premium quality construction through his company.” Gadkari, during his address, informed people that a new flyover would be built in Manish Nagar, connecting the area to Wardha Road, thereby bringing the travel time down to mere five minutes.
While Gadkari was all praises for Abhijit, Bawankule was all praises for Gadkari. Bawankule praised Gadkari for speeding up the industrialisation and Metro Rail work in Nagpur and bringing premier institutes such as IIT, AIIMS, etc., to the city.
Arijit Singh live concert was conceptualised and efficiently managed by Refuge Events.

Nagpur: Married man accused of girlfriend’s rape commits suicide on Facebook live
A 38-year-old married man named Manish alias Raj Yadav, on Sunday, committed suicide during a Facebook live-stream after allegedly being accused of rape by his girlfriend and her family in Nagpur.
During the live stream, Manish, who was married and a father to three children, stated that his 19-year-old girlfriend, Kajal, along with her family members demanded a sum of five lakh rupees and threatened to press charges of rape if he failed to do so.
On September 6, the situation became grave as the woman’s family accused him of eloping after Kajal went missing from her residence.
The deceased refused the claims of having any sexual relationship with the woman and identified her, her family, and a photo studio operator responsible for his condition. He, then, jumped into the river.
After the live video surfaced online, Kalamna Police launched a search operation and recovered the deceased’s body from the river. Four people have been detained in the case for questioning. Further investigation is underway.
