Home Minister of India Amit Shah inaugurated the new campus of National Fire Service College in Nagpur in the presence of Union Minister Nitin Gadkari, Union Minister Nityanand Rai and former chief minister of Maharashtra Devendra Fadnavis today. Shah also laid the foundation stone for National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) Academy in the city and gave away ‘Fire Service Gallantry Medals Investiture.’

Shah credited Prime Minister Narendra Modi for making NDRF the best organisation in the world vis-à-vis disaster management. He said, "In 2016, PM Modi gave pace to NDRF. Within four years, it became the topmost organisation in the world related to disaster management. Today the work to provide the services of NDRF to district and lower levels has been completed.”
