Amid Coronavirus scare, Maharashtra Highway Police suspends drunk driving test
With an intention with protect its own against the novel coronavirus infection, Maharashtra Highway Police has suspended breath-analyser tests, which are conducted to check for drunk driving. The decision was communicated on Monday through a circular issued by Vijay Kargaonkar, ADGP (Additional Director General of Police), Maharashtra Police.
The circular stated, Outbreak of coronavirus has been reported in the state. To contain the spread of the virus, the police personnel need to take precautionary measures accordingly. Hence, traffic police personnel in all police units should not conduct analyser tests for alcohol consumption by motorists.
Kargaonkar informed the decision was taken to prevent further spread of coronavirus and that the test would be resumed once the situation gets normal.

A 49-year-old man in Nagpur died while playing badminton in Pachpaoli area on Monday morning at around 6:45 am. The deceased, identified as Gunnu Dharma Lohara, was a resident of Yadav Nagar who was playing badminton with his friend.
He was rushed to Central Railway Hospital in an unconscious state and was declared dead by the doctors there.

Ahead of G20 meet in Nagpur, Assistant Commissioner of Police Ashwati Dorje, on Wednesday, said the city has been declared ‘No Drone Zone’ on March 20, 21. The development came in as a security measure for the large number of foreign delegates that will be in the city for the summit.
Any aerial objects including use of parachutes have also been banned.
