All residents except one in Thorang village of Himanchal Pradeshs Lahaul valley have tested positive for COVID-19. The only person to have tested negative in the village, which has a population of 42, is 52-year-old man named Bhushan Thakur. With the surge in cases, Lahaul-Spiti valley has become the worst COVID-19 affected district in the state in terms of population ratio.
As per a report in TOI, a few days back, residents in the village had gathered for a religious function. After the function, the villagers voluntarily decided to get tested. Out of the 42 samples, 41 except Thakurs sample came back positive.
Most people living in Thorang, which is long the Manali-Leh highway, have migrated to Kullu for the winter leaving behind just 42 residents currently.

He added, “Then COVID-19 struck the world. Now we plan to continue it from next year onwards. While I express my gratitude to Nagpurians to make the event a huge hit, I request the city’s garba revellers to not get fooled as a few garbas are falsely claiming to be The Raaas. We’ll be back next year for sure!”
