Ahead of the West Bengal State Assembly elections, five former Trinamool Congress leaders, who recently quit the TMC, would be joining the Bharatiya Janata Party, today at its headquarters in Delhi.
The five included, Former Forest Minister Rajib Banerjee, MLA Baishali Dalmiya, MLA Prabir Ghoshal, Howrah Mayor Rathin Chakraborty and Civic Chief of Ranaghat Partha Chatterjee.
As per the original plan, the five former TMC leaders were scheduled to join BJP at the Howrah rally in Kolkata, on Sunday. Due to certain changes, they would be now joining it today itself.
Former Forest Minister of CM Mamata Banerjee-led West Bengal government, Rajib Banerjee said, Mr Amit Shah called me up and said he would like to hand over the flag to me himself, so he is sending a plane to fly me to the capital city.
The others were scheduled to leave West Bengal by the 4 Pm flight from Kolkata- Delhi. The Sundays Howrah rally will take place as planned. However, Union Home Minister Amit Shah would be virtually joining the event and Union Minister Smriti Irani, would be physically present.

Purva Kothari’s jewellery collection sparkles at ‘Intrea’ exhibition in Nagpur
Amid festivities, jewellery designer Purva Kothari conducted a two-day exhibition of diamond studded jewellery at Jawaharlal Darda Art Gallery in Nagpur on October 1 and 2.
Purva, in the past, has enticed celebrities including Director at Reliance Industries Nita Ambani, Varsha Patel wife of former minister Praful Patel, Founder at Videocon Venugopal Dhoot, Founder Chairman at GMR Group GM Rao and endorsements from Salman Khan, Kareena Kapoor Khan and Saina Nehwal, to name a few.
