Nagpur registered one new COVID-19 positive case on Saturday, August 7, 2021, which took the districts overall tally to 4,92,925. 

As per data provided by the District Civil Surgeon, there was no case from the city on Saturday. However, as per NMC’s data, there was one case in the city on Saturday.

An official from District Civil Surgeon said that in case there was any case in the city on Saturday, the same would be incorporated in tomorrows data.

While the one positive COVID-19 patient belonged to Umred (Nagpur rural), as per the data provided by the NMC, one patient was from Chikli Layout in Kalamna (Nagpur city).

However, there have been no deaths recorded from city and rural for last 11 consecutive days. 

Guardian Minister Nitin Raut, who too said there wasn’t a single case in the city on Saturday, said, Healthcare workers, district administration, NMC and ZP are taking all efforts. People should continue to follow Covid guidelines. There is prediction of third wave so there should be no crowding.

Speaking to Nation Next, Mayor Dayashankar Tiwari, who too said there was not a single case recorded in the city today, said, Fortunately, there are no deaths and no positive cases recorded today. But, this doesn’t mean we’re out of danger. We have to abide by the guidelines because third wave could come soon. 

There are 183 active patients in Nagpur district at present. Total tests taken today were 5714.
