International Chess Master Anwesh Upadhyaya to coach young players on Dec 2,3 in Nagpur

Kalpana Prakash Welfare Foundation in association with GH Raisoni Sports and Cultural Foundation and Vidarbha Chess Academy, recognised by Chess Association Nagpur, is organising fourth Grandmaster’s Classroom Chess Coaching Camp in Nagpur on December 2 and 3 at GHRIET Shraddha Park ,Wadi, Hingna Link Road, MIDC in Nagpur.
International Master (IM) Anwesh Upadhyaya, who would be hosting the camp, is a National Rapid Champion and  a doctor by profession working in a private hospital in Kyiv at Ukraine. Hes simultaneously, pursuing  apprenticeship in Gastroenterology. 
The main aim of the camp is to let the students know what it takes to become a National Champion. During the camp, Anwesh would cover important topics from Opening Preparations, Skills and Strategies, Visualisation, Middle Game Calculations, and End Game Themes. 

He would also have a game session with all the participants so that players learn from an experienced player and trainer like Anwesh.

National Under 9 Champion Jay Sawalakhe and National Under 9 Runner up and State Champion Vedika Pal have already confirmed their participation for the camp. A team lead by Bhushan Shriwas (Secretary) at Kalpana Prakash Welfare Foundation is working hard to promote chess and create a platform for upcoming talents in Nagpur.

LAD College conducts IRICH workshop on carbon footprint, climate change

Interdisciplinary Research Ideation and Collaboration Hub (IRICH), the latest initiative from the Women’s Education Society (WES), recently held a six-day intense workshop ‘Research Ideation and Exploration (RIEW)’ for selected students from the various post graduate courses conducted in its institutions.

Dr Kamal Singh, former vice-chancellor of SDG Amravati University was the chief guest at the valedictory function. Delivering her valedictory address, she spoke on ‘Ethics in Research’ and urged the students to adopt a strong value system while conducting research.

Around 39 students from the 10 post graduate departments of LAD and Smt RP College for women and the Smt Manoramabai Mundle College of Architecture (SMMCA) participated in the workshop.

The focus was to explore areas of interdisciplinary in research and the participants worked in heterogeneous groups to identify areas of the same. They were introduced to concepts of Sustainability and Sustainable Development Goals, Climate change, Carbon Footprint, Traditional knowledge systems, Mechanics of interdisciplinary research and Cognition in research.

Dr Kamal Singh presented the certificates and membership cards of IRICH were issued to the participants.

The workshop was held under the patronage of advocate Sunil Manohar President WES, Dr Avinash Deshmukh Vice-President WES, Dr Shyamala Nair Secretary WES, Dr Nanda Rathi Jt Secretary WES, Dr Harsha Jharia Chief Administrative Officer WES and mentors from all the departments. The function was conducted by Dr Roopal Deshpande, Coordinator IRICH.

‘Feels like coming to White House:’ Gadkari during Symbiosis Centre’s inauguration in Nagpur

Union Minister Nitin Gadkari, on Sunday, inaugurated Convention Centre and Symbiosis Centre for Skill Development at Symbiosis International (Deemed University) in Nagpur. 

 

 

Former Chief Minister of Maharashtra and current Leader of Opposition (LoP) Devendra Fadnavis, Chancellor of Symbiosis International Padma Bhushan Dr SB Majumdar, Pro Chancellor Dr Vidya Yeravdekar, Vice Chancellor Dr Rajani Gupte, to name a few, were also present for the inauguration.

 

 

Gadkari, during his speech, said, When I used to go around asking for votes in Nagpur, people would tell me their sons were either study in Pune or Mumbai. So, I thought of making an education hub in Nagpur instead.

 

 

He added, Nagpur’s Symbiosis campus is the most beautiful; it feels like coming to ?White House? because it has been design in such a way!

Aditya Junghare bags first spot in Nagpur District Amateur Selection Chess Tournament, Saksham Singh ranks second

Chess Association Nagpur organised  Nagpur District Amateur Selection Chess Tournament? in Association with Kalpana Prakash Welfare Foundation under the aegis of Maharashtra Chess Association (MCA) on December 24 at Smt Vimalabai Jatar Sabhagruha, Seva Sadan, Jhansi Rani Metro Station, Sitabuldi in Nagpur.  

The prize distribution was done by Nishant Gandhi (President) CAN, SS Soman (MCA member) Bhushan Shriwas (Secretary ) CAN and Amrish Joshi (Chief Arbiter).

While Aditya Junghare bagged the first rank, Saksham Singh secured the second position.

The top four participants of the tournament would represent Nagpur in Maharashtra States Amateur Selection Tournament, which is scheduled at Ahmednagar from January 20th to 23rd.
The tournament was conducted under the guidance of Amrish Joshi, Deputy Arbiter Amit Tembhurne, Prayas Ambade and Amit Bhongare.
