Shravan Rathod of Nadeem-Shravan duo, wife had visited Kumbh Mela before testing positive, reveals son

One of the reigning music composers of the 90s, Shravan Rathod of hit duo ‘Nadeem-Shravan,’ passed away on Thursday, April 22 due to COVID-19 related complications.
Shravans son and music composer Sanjeev Rathod revealed that Shravan along with his wife had visited Kumbh Mela in Haridwar few days before they tested COVID-19 positive.
Sanjeev as well as his mother are admitted to another medical facility in Andheri, Mumbai. “We had never thought our family would have to go through such tough times, my father passed away, I am COVID positive and so is my mother. My brother is also positive and is in home isolation, but since our father has died, he is being allowed to do the final procedures to do last rites for our father,” Indian Express quoted Sanjeev as saying.
After returning from the Kumbh Mela, Shravan complained of breathlessness. He and his wife subsequently tested positive for COVID-19.

Shravan, who was on ventilator support, was 66-years-old. He was under observation at SL Raheja hospital. Composer Nadeem Saifi, the other half of the popular duo, confirmed the news to Bombay Times yesterday.
He said, My Shanu is no more. We have seen an entire life together. We saw our highs, we saw our lows. We’ve grown up with each other in many ways. We never lost touch and no physical distance could ever separate the two of us. I am in deep pain as I say this but my friend and my companion, my partner of so many years is no more. It has left such a vacuum. I spoke to his son who was inconsolable. We had been in touch on a regular basis for the last several days when Shravan complained of ill-health and had to be moved to a hospital.”
Nadeem-Shravan were among the most popular music composers in the 90s, who gave hit music to films including Aashiqui,’ Saajan,’ Shah Rukh Khan starrer Pardes, Raja Hindustani? played by Aamir Khan, Rishi Kapoor starrer ‘Deewana,’ Damini to name a few.

Megastar Amitabh Bachchan visited late Lata Mangeshkar’s residence at Peddar Road in Mumbai on February 6 to pay his last respects to the veteran singer. Lata Mangeshkar will be creamted with full state honours at Shivaji Park in Mumbai at 6:30 pm on February 6.

Actor Punneth Rajkumar, who was a superstar in the Kannada film industry passed away on Friday, October 29.
The 46-year-old superstar died of cardiac arrest. At 11 am today, he was hospitalised in Bengaluru after complaining of severe chest pain. Punneth Rajkumar was the son of veteran Kannada actor Rajkumar.
Karnataka Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai shared this news on his Twitter account.
He wrote, “I am deeply shocked that Kannada celebrity Shri Puneeth Rajkumar died of a heart attack. The death of Kannadigar’s favourite actor, Appu, hascaused enormous loss to Kannada and Karnataka and I pray that God will have mercy on his soul and give his fans the power to endure this pain.”
