APJ Abdul Kalam wanted India to become ‘Atmanirbhar’: Vice President Venkaiah Naidu

Vice President Venkaiah Naidu, while speaking at the virtual release of the book ₹40 Years with Abdul Kalam- Untold Stories, urged the youth of India to take inspiration from the life of former President of India late Dr APJ Abdul Kalam.
Naidu asked students to think out of the box and use technology to solve the problems of the modern age. Authored by Sivathanu Pillai, the book threw light on the life of Kalam.
Thanking Pillai, Naidu said, The life of Dr. Kamal serves as an inspiration to many; he was an intelligent yet a man of noble character. He was a great visionary and a true Karma Yogi;? he was an ocean of wisdom and knowledge.
He continued to say that he interacted with Kalam on several occasions when he had served in Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) and later as the President of India. Naidu said Kalam taught him selfless service to humanity and the nation.
Dr. Kalam strengthened our nation; he was the epitome of simplicity and honesty, Naidu added.
He also said that Kalam wanted Indian to become Aatmanirbhar? and a superpower in defence and space technologies.
Naidu stated that amidst the global COVID-19 pandemic, the scientific community had done a great job on research and innovations making India the second-largest producer of PPE kits. India is a pool of human resource and talent; we must use it wisely, he noted.

Renowned singer KK passes away at 53

KK passed away at the age of 53 in Kolkata
Renowned playback singer Krishnakumar Kunnath, popularly known as KK, passed away at the age of 53 in Kolkata. The singer performed at Nazul Mancha auditorium on Tuesday (May 31). He went to his hotel after his performance and collapsed. He was rushed to Calcutta Medical Research Institute (CMRI) at around 10:30 pm, where he was declared brought dead by the doctors. The exact cause of his death is unknown as of now.
Saddened by the untimely demise of noted singer Krishnakumar Kunnath popularly known as KK. His songs reflected a wide range of emotions as struck a chord with people of all age groups. We will always remember him through his songs. Condolences to his family and fans. Om Shanti.

Shane Warne
Shane Warne, the legendary Australian spinner, passed away at the age of 52 after suffering a suspected heart attack, his management has confirmed.
A statement by the managenent read: “Shane was found unresponsive in his villa and despite the best efforts of medical staff, he could not be revived. The family requests privacy at this time and will provide further details in due course.”
