First edition of The Dream Catchers in Nagpur was all about fun, food and frolic

Nagpur based event management firm – The Dream Catchers – at their launch event organised a flea market at South Central Zone Cultural Centre (SCZCC), Civil Lines, Nagpur on 17 December, 2016. The two-day event had some amazing live band performances by Groove Tantriks (live music band from Bangalore), Nagpur Unplugged, Ayog, mime artists, etc. The open mic challenge and Nagpur’s stand up comedian Jitesh Vasani’s act were the major attractions, which weren’t worth a miss! With almost 15 food stalls and 54 apparel stalls, youngsters as well as oldies thronged the flea market in full attendance. One of the major highlights of the event was Nagpur’s first of a kind mannequin challenge, in which people were supposed to pose as a mannequin (statue) for two minutes.

One of the three co-partners of The Dream Catchers, Deepshikha Thakur said, This is the only flea market concept in Nagpur. We are proud to have launched our first event. We have been getting an overwhelming response from all across the city. Nagpurians always wanted a change. You can spot all kinds of age groups here – right from kids, youngsters and parents! We have live music band, all sorts of entertainment, great food, etc. What else does one want? Everythings under roof! That too only for Rs 100. Moreover, this is a great platform for startups.

Apeksha Kongovi Munde, co-partner of The Dream Catchers, said, I even saw a one-month-old baby here! I’m sure it’s an outing for the baby. In fact, even oldies are enjoying here. We are so proud that Nagpur’s first mannequin challenge happened here. It will be soon uploaded on YouTube. So, just wait and watch out for the video.

When Nation Next spoke to Deepti Nangia, co-partner of The Dream Catchers, she said, “The Dream Catchers is an event company for budding artists . We value art, entertainment and want to make Nagpur more happening.”

Nagpur’s Nandini Chari, a pastry chef from Le Cordon Bleu School, Ottawa (Canada), and owner at Le petit ? French patisserie, said, It was my first stall ever. I had primarily kept French desserts that comprised cup cakes, dipped biscuits, lemon cheesecakes, chocolate parfait, cake pops, etc. The response was great. All my desserts were sold out! This is the best platform for budding entrepreneurs like me.
