13 BJP activists booked for blocking Maharashtra Deputy CM Ajit Pawars convoy in Nagpur

Wadi Police on Monday, booked 13 Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Yuva Morcha activists for illegally blocking Deputy Chief Minister of Maharashtra Ajit Pawars convoy near Amravati Road in Nagpur.

The accused have been identified as Govinda Ishwar Katekar (resident of Dipti Signal, Hanuman Chowk, Kalamna), Rahul Rakesh Yadav (CA Road, Telephone Exchange Chowk, Lakda Market), Ijaz Sheikh Mohammed Hassan (Hivari Nagar, Nandanvan), Sachin Gyaneshwar Karade (Garoba Maidan, Adarsha Nagar Slum, Lakadganj), Sunny Haribhau Raut (Lalganj, Shantinagar), Dipanshu Lingat (Golibar Chowk), Rahul Khangar (Golibar Chowk), Yash Satpute (Chhatrapati Chowk), Badal Raut (Lalganj, Zade Chowk), Pintu Patel (Hivari Nagar Mohalla) and Tushar Thakare (Shantinagar).
The activists, who were protesting against the issue of increased electricity bill in Maharashtra, blocked the State Finance Minister’s convoy at around 3:30 pm near Ordinance Factory, gate no 1, Amravati Road, for about an hour, despite prohibition order imposed upon them by the government.
They had assembled in front of Pawars convoy without providing any prior notice or permission granted by the government.
Following the incident, an offence was registered against the accused at Wadi Police Station, under Disaster Act, 2005, Sub-Section 3,4 of the Communicable Diseases Act, 1879, and Section 135 (Abetment of desertion of officer, soldier, sailor or airman) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC).

A 49-year-old man in Nagpur died while playing badminton in Pachpaoli area on Monday morning at around 6:45 am.

A 49-year-old man in Nagpur died while playing badminton in Pachpaoli area on Monday morning at around 6:45 am. The deceased, identified as Gunnu Dharma Lohara, was a resident of Yadav Nagar who was playing badminton with his friend. 

He was rushed to Central Railway Hospital in an unconscious state and was declared dead by the doctors there.

Nagpur declared ‘no drone zone’ on March 20, 21

Ahead of G20 meet in Nagpur, Assistant Commissioner of Police Ashwati Dorje, on Wednesday, said the city has been declared ‘No Drone Zone’ on March 20, 21. The development came in as a security measure for the large number of foreign delegates that will be in the city for the summit.   

Any aerial objects including use of parachutes have also been banned.
