Tendulkars Nagpur visit cancelled due to heavy rainfall, fans disappointed

Thousands of fans of cricketing legend and Rajya Sabha MP Sachin Tendulkar were left disappointed today as Tendulkar’s Nagpur visit got cancelled due to sudden heavy rainfall. Tendulkar was scheduled to grace the concluding ceremony of the multi-sport cricket festival Khasdar Krida Mahotsav (at Yeshwant Stadium) as the chief guest. He was also going to give away the awards to the winners of different sport events conducted at the 20-day sports festival. Along with Tendulkar, Maharashtra CM Devendra Fadnvais and Union Minister Nitin Gadkari were also going to grace the concluding ceremony.
Even as rains continued to play spoilsport, Tendulkar fans waited at Yeshwant Stadium hoping that they would get to have a glimpse of their favourite sporting star. There dreams were shattered, when amidst the chants of Sachin Sachin, Sandeep Joshi (organizer of the festival) informed them about Tendulkars visit being cancelled. Joshi, while addressing the people present at the stadium, said, I would like to thank all those who have come here. Because of the sudden heavy rainfall, Sachin Tendulkars flight did not land in Nagpur and was diverted to Aurangabad. The concluding ceremony of KKM has been postponed and the new date will be communicated through newspapers soon. We have conducted the event ?Walkathon? tomorrow morning (May 27) and it wll take place as per the initial plan and will start from Ramgiri, Civil Lines, at 6 am in the morning.
Have a look at some of the pictures from Yeshwant Stadium, wherein the concluding ceremony of Khasdar Krida Mahotsav was to take place.
