Scotland beats Sri Lanka in Champions Trophy warm-up match
Scotland cricket team stunned the Sri Lankan cricket team on Sunday as the scots won a ICC Champions Trophy 2017 warm-up match against the Sri Lankans at Kent County Cricket Ground in England. Though the match was not a full one-day International match, it was Scotlands first win over a full member of the International Cricket Council (ICC) in any format.
Scotland comfortably chased the target of 288 runs and thrashed the Asian team by seven wickets. Scotland batsmen Kyle Coetzer and Matthew Cross both scored centuries as they put up a double century stand laying the foundation for the historic win. The last time Scotland played Sri Lanka was in the 2015 World Cup, wherein Sri Lanka beat Scotland by 148 runs.
