Nagpur: BJP MLA Kirtikumar Bhangdiya booked for cheating, buying NIT flats meant for poor
Kirtikumar Bhangdiya
Nagpur Police have booked BJP MLA Kiritikumar Bhangdiya, better known as Bunty Bhangdiya, from Chimur in two cases of cheating for allegedly buying flats under a scheme, which is meant for the poor. While one case has been registered at Imamwada Police station, other has been registered at Sakkardara Police Station.
The registration of cases against Bhangdiya comes after a magisterial court slammed Nagpur Police recently for failing to file cases against Bhangdiya despite a court order. The court order to file cases against Bhangdiya came after city lawyer Tarun Parmar, based on information obtained under RTI Act, accused the MLA of illegally obtaining flats under an NIT (Nagpur Improvement Trust) scheme.

Parmar claimed that only those, not having any flats or house within NITs jurisdiction, can have a flat under the scheme. However, Bhangdiya allegedly filed a false affidavit to illegally grab flats in NIT scheme by stating that he didn’t have any house, flat or plot within city limits.
Bhangdiya has a flat, which he purchased in 2008, at Dahipura in Imamwada and another flat, which he purchased in 2009, at Ayurvedic Layout in Sakkardara. Both these flats were purchased under the NITs Lok Housing Scheme.

‘There’s wave of andh bhakts; don’t be one:’ CM Uddhav Thackeray during Nitin Raut’s book release
Chief Minister of Maharashtra Uddhav Thackeray said there was a wave of andh bhakts (a term colloquially used for blind illogical followers) at the moment and people shouldn’t become andh bhakts.
Thackeray said the same while virtually releasing state cabinet minister Dr Nitin Raut’s book ‘Ambedkar on Population Policy’ on Sunday from Mumbai.
Thackeray said, “Babasaheb Ambedkar’s thoughts guide us and show us the way forward. He not only framed the Constitution but also told us the obstacles that may come up and how to overcome them. The true follower will understand the teaching of his God and spread it to all. The blind follower will only praise superficially and then sometimes change his affection.”
Raut, who was praised by Thackeray for coming up with a ‘well-researched’ book, said the government in the state should implement suggestions given by Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar and initiate welfare programmes based on them.
