This is how first year students broke the ice during their Freshers Day at YCCE

Freshers day is the most awaited event for first year students as it’s a formal welcome by seniors and faculty members. Students at Yeshwantrao Chavan College of Engineering (YCCE) let their hair down during their annual cultural fest – YASH 17.0 – which had Nation Next as its media partner. YCCE had recently organised Mr and Ms Freshers contest for their first year engineering students, who set the stage on fire with their electrifying performances. The students showcased their talent through various dance performances, singing, acting, etc., and made the evening all the more memorable.

The contest comprised four rounds, which consisted of 18 contestants. The rounds included – introduction round, talent round, challenge round and question and answer round. Shubhangi Borikar, Nawaz Ameen Waquif, Abhishek Jaiswal and Rezz Ali adjudged the contest. Contestants were also asked to prepare an impromptu skit on one of the topics – sanitary napkins, condoms, pregnancy kit and lubricants.

YASH 17.0, the weeklong fest, was celebrated from 30th January to 5th February. It comprised various cultural events and competitions like Freshers Day, Traditional Day, Rose day, Fashionista, Rock Band Concerts, Celebrity Concerts to name a few.

Mr and Ms Freshers Day runner-ups:

Ms 2nd runner up: Aditi Pohekar

Mr 2nd runner up: Aadesh Katkar

Ms 1st runner up: Agraja Deshpande

Mr 1st runner up: Himanshu Dehankar

Title of Mr and Ms Freshers was bagged by:

Mr Himanshu Bharadwaj and Ms Sayali Umredkar

YCCEians sport traditional outfits with style at their annual fest Yash 18.0

Yeshwantrao Chavhan College of Engineering’s (YCCE) annual fest ‘Yash 18.0’ got a glamorous start as students decked up in traditional attires during the ‘Traditional Day’ of the fest at the college campus. Yash 18.0 was organised in association with Nation Next as the media partner.

Girls sporting sarees with elegance and grace and boys sporting traditional outfits with style made the day a colourful one. With students dressed up so amazingly, a lot of selfies were clicked thus making the day memorable. Girls got all the attention from the boys as they got roses from them. YCCEians also scored full marks on the fun meter as they danced like nobody’s watching on the desi beats of sandal.

Shirley Setia brings down the house with her electrifying performance at YCCE in Nagpur

Indo-Kiwi singer and YouTube sensation Shirley Setia set the stage ablaze recently with her power pact performances at Yeshwantrao Chavan College of Engineerings (YCCE) annual cultural fest ? YASH 17.0.

Shirley Setia, the 21-year-old singer from New Zealand, kick-started her performance by regaling the audience with the hit song ? Tum hi ho. When Nation Next caught up with Shirley Setia ahead of her performance, she said, My first ever college performance in India was in Nagpur, so I’m really excited to perform again in Nagpur after a year. It’s great to be back here! I received a warm welcome from YCCEians in the college. Also, they welcomed me with flowers at the airport. I have learnt few lines from Nagpurians – Mala Nagpur Khoob Awadte. (I love Nagpur).

The event took place in February, which was graced by Datta Meghe along with his wife Shalini Meghe, Sameer Meghe, Vrinda Meghe, etc. Shirley Setia, who’s a singer, is also a graduate from the university of Auckland and is a marketing and publicity intern at Auckland Council, New Zealand. Within three years, she had 600k subscribers on YouTube and has 30 million views on her music videos.

When contestants ruled the fashion runway during Fashionista at YCCE

Fashionista at YCCE (Yeshwantrao Chavan College of Engineering) is one of the most glamorous and happening competitions that takes place across Nagpur colleges. Eight teams from different colleges, during its annual cultural fest YASH 17.0,  competed with one another during the competition, which even saw the participation of various fashion show groups. Hari Shaikh and group, Divine Group, Glamourolics, Raisoni College and Group, Dazzling Stars, Anjuman Polytechnic College and group, The Marvels and Team-In-Vouge were the teams that participated in the competition. The competition comprised two rounds with themes – Pop and Peppy as well as Indian. Aquib Nadeem, Asif Jamil and Siddharth Jichkar adjudged the fashion show. The Marvels won the competition where as Raisoni College group bagged the runner-up position.

The students of YCCE also competed for coveted titles like Mr and Ms Handsome, Mr and Ms Best walk and Mr and Ms Congeniality. The winners were:

? Ms Beautiful – Tejashree Ingole

? Mr Best walk- Naman Jain

? Ms Best walk- Vaishnavi Dandekar

? Mr Congeniality- Avneet Singh

? Ms Congeniality- Shreya Jambhulkar
