58-year-old Independent Lok Sabha MP from Dadra and Nagar Haveli Mohan Delkar was found dead, on Monday, at Sea Green Hotel in South Mumbai.
Delkar’s body has been sent for post mortem. It is suspected that he committed suicide, Police have initiated a detailed probe on the matter.
Delkar is survived by his wife and two children. The seven-time MP had left Congress ahead of the 2019 Lok Sabha election.
In 2020, Delkar had tied up with the Janata Dal (United) for the local elections in Dadra and Nagar Haveli, after a meeting with Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar.
He was also a member of the Standing Committee on Personnel, Public Grievances, Law and Justice and a member of the Consultative Committee, Ministry of Home Affairs of the Lower house.
