COVID-19 vaccination drive to kick off from January 16

Central government on Saturday, announced that COVID-19 vaccination drive would kick off from January 16. 

 

Priority would be given to the healthcare and frontline workers, which are estimated to be around three crore, followed by those above 50 years and under-50 population groups with co-morbidities numbering around 27 crore.

 

In a high-level meeting chaired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi to review the status of COVID-19 in the country, PM Modi took a detailed and comprehensive review of status of COVID-19 management in the country, along with the preparedness of the States/Union Territories for vaccination.

 

 

Meanwhile, the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare (MoHFW), uploaded a list of roles for volunteers in the community during vaccination process. The list includes:

 

1. Support eligible beneficiaries during registration process; support in bringing the elderly to the vaccination centers

 

2. Be a citizen journalist to amplify the positive voices/experiences of the communities

 

3. Be informed on the process of vaccination and update yourself with the latest information

 

4. Notify the health functionaries and mobilisers if you hear of any misinformation and respond with facts and correct information

 

5. Do not share/circulate/forward any information received from invalid or unknown sources

 

6. Be an authentic source of information for people with queries and doubts by keeping regular contact with ASHA, ANM, Healthcare providers, etc.

 

7. Disseminate correct information with friends and communities through your social media- FB, Twitter, WhatsApp, etc.

 

8. Be a role model for practising the COVID Appropriate Behaviour in your locality

 

9. Ensure that the community understands and follows CAB at all times

Active COVID cases near 30,000 mark in Nagpur

Nagpur’s COVID-19 tally, on Tuesday, January 25, reached 5,43,064 (till 5 pm) as 4028 (972 from rural and 2956 from city) new cases were recorded in a single day. 

Also, active COVID cases, as on Tuesday, could be seen inching closer to 30,000 mark in the district.

Six people lost their lives (one from rural and five from city) on Tuesday. Till now, 10,183 people have lost their lives due to COVID-19 in the district. Total tests taken were 11,377.
While patients who recovered on Tuesday were 2519, the total number of recovered patients stood at 503729.

Nagpur reports 90 COVID cases in past 24 hours

Nagpur’s COVID-19 tally on Sunday, January 2 reached 4,94,193 (till 5 pm) as 90 (73 city, nine rural) more people tested positive for the virus. 

Also, five patients recovered on Sunday taking the number of recoveries to 4,83,664. 

Till now, 10123 people have lost their lives due to COVID in the district. As of now, there are 406 active COVID patients in the district.

ALARMING! Nagpur reports 88 COVID cases in past 24 hours

Nagpur registered 88 (81 from city) new COVID-19 positive cases on Friday, December 31. Nagpur previously had recorded as minimum as six cases on December 24.
