The Congress Working Committee (CWC), on Friday, held a meeting in Delhi and passed three resolutions of national importance; demanded investigation in R Bharat Chief Arnab Goswami’s Whats App chats leak. Also, Congress announced to conduct elections for party president in June 2021.
The party said that they were firm on their decision of asking the Centre to revoke the three farm laws, which had caused nation-wide turbulence within farmers. Further, Congress thanked the scientists and officials involved in the making of two ‘home-made’ COVID-19 vaccines. Lastly, they demanded an open investigation by a Joint Parliamentary Committee on Goswami’s Whats App chat leaks, which linked to the Pulwama- Balakot attacks.
Interim Congress President Sonia Gandhi, said, “There are many issues concerning national safety and security. The centre is showing shocking insensitivity and arrogance towards the farmer’s protest. We urge citizens to come forward and take the COVID-19 vaccines.”
She further stated that Congress’s position on farm laws was very clear from the beginning. They rejected them from the day they were introduced in the parliament as bills. “It is abundantly clear that the three laws were prepared in haste and parliament was consciously denied to examine,” she added.
“Farm laws will destroy the foundation pillars of food security that are based on MSP, public procurement and PDS,” said Gandhi and concluded her remarks.
