Four-day Art, Culture and Music Festival – The Opus Fest – to commence from Jan 17 in Nagpur
Come January, Nagpur will witness Central India’s biggest art, culture and music festival – The Opus Fest – which will be organized by Hype Media Solutions in collaboration with Nagpur Municipal Corporation and CONCOR with Nation Next as the online media partner. The Opus Fest, which is four-day festival, will be held from January 17 to January 20, 2019, at Telangkhedi Garden, Nagpur.
The Opus Fest will bring more than 150 artists involved in performing and creative arts under one roof. Speaking to Nation Next, Zibran Khan, Owner, Hype Media Solutions, said, “The basic idea behind The Opus Fest is to create a support system for artists so that they can collaborate with each other and also build an audience for themselves. We will be bringing artists together to collaborate with each other and will be curating their performances. To put it in a simple way, there’s a possibility you may see a beatboxing jam with a rapper or a poet with a musician. Any and every sort of creative collaborations will happen at The Opus Fest.”
Even artists associated with creative arts will get a chance to display their work at the fest through live painting, pottery, art installations and more. There are going to be different workshops and flea stalls displaying the skills and works of the artists which will give Nagpur an easy access to the art culture of the city.
Well, if you thought The Opus Fest is all about artists, you are wrong! For four days, from 6 am to 10 am, fitness enthusiasts will be able to enjoy different kind of activities at the fest. In the morning, the fest will have workshops on yoga, Zumba, CrossFit, meditation and other fitness related activities. Interactive sessions on physical and mental health will also be conducted.
After the morning session, there will be break from 10 am to 1 pm, post which activities will be resumed. From 1 pm to 7 pm, there will be open air performances by artists, Nukkad Natak and several workshops for cooking, baking, painting, hand lettering, sculpting, introduction to filmmaking, photography, etc. The fest will also be featuring more than 100 different flea stalls from handcraftsmen from the city.
From 7 pm to 11 pm, popular artists from the mainstream entertainment industry will be performing over the course of four days. The concerts of these artists will be opened by musicians from Nagpur.
All in all, The Opus Fest promises to be a roller coaster ride for anyone who wants to have fun with friends, spend quality time with loved ones or learn some artistic skills themselves!

1st COVID-19 case in Ramdaspeth crops up near Cabinet Minister Vijay Wadettiwars residence

For the first time, a resident of Ramdaspeth tested positive for Coronavirus on Saturday. The patient, who is said to be residing in an apartment near Cabinet Minister for Relief and Rehabilitation in the Maha Vikas Aghadi and senior Congress leader Vijay Wadettiwars residence (behind Tuli Imperial), is said to be a middle-aged woman.
The patient is reportedly connected to a resident from Mominpura. However, nothing concrete as of now can be said about the same. More details are awaited.

Nagpur: 91 test positive in 24 hours making COVID-19 tally rise to 1266
Nagpur COVID-19 tally as on June 20 rose to 1266 after 91 people tested positive for the virus in past 24 hours. Out of the total 91, while 69 patients belonged to Naik Talao/Bangladesh, 11 from Shantinagar, four from Lashkaribagh, three from Ganeshpeth, one from Uppalwadi, one from Ramdaspeth, one from Mehendibagh and one belonged to Mominpura.
Out of the total, 823 have been cured and over 333 are currently being treated upon.

Nagpur man discovers 4-month-old foetus in gutter; cops suspect illegal abortion
In yet another shocking incident, a resident named Rahul Tumane discovered a 4-month-old foetus lying in an abandoned condition behind his house (near plot number 13, behind Kajal Bar and Restaurant area) in Pardi inside a gutter.
Police inspector Sunil Chavan told Nation Next that a four-month-old foetus, wrapped in a cloth, was found lying inside a gutter near a house on Thursday night in Pardi. Chavan also informed that the foetus was sent for an autopsy to Mayo Hospital and the reports are awaited. Police have suspected the possibility of abandonment after an illegal abortion.
A case has been registered under Section 318 (Concealment of birth by secret disposal of a dead body) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) on the basis of a complained filed by Tumane.
