After father denies access to scooty, 16-yr-old Nagpur teen steals 3 bikes as revenge
A 16- year-old boy from Nagpur’s Panchpoli, of class X, stole three bikes from neighbouring localities with his friend to enjoy fun rides. The minor was denied access of his fathers scooter, hence he took this step as a revenge against his father. The Nagpur police had located the two accused on January 23 and handed them over to the court for further legal procedures.
As per the officials of Panchpoli police station, the boy was angry because his father had denied him to ride home-owned scooter as the boy, was a minor. He along with his colony friend planned to rob bikes so he could enjoy fun rides on them and avenge his fathers decision in some way.
Sub- Inspector Arvind Shinde attached to Panchpoli police station spoke to Nation Next on this matter and said, According to the boy, he just doing it for fun. Little he realised that it was a serious offence. After receiving few complaints regarding vehicle robbery we decided to look at the CCTV cameras installed at the neighbouring squares of Panchpoli.
He further stated that they procured the CCTV footage from Sadar, Kadbi Chowk, Gondwana Chowk and Mangalwari Market. After carefully screening the recordings they saw two boys, one riding and other towing. They narrowed down their search and found out that the kids stole three bikes (Avenger, Passion Pro and Hunter).
After further investigation we located the boys and called them at the station for interrogation. They were charged under IPC Section 379 (punishment for theft) and a charge-sheet was filed. We handed over the matter to the court as the kids were minor so we could not arrest them, he added.
Senior PI Kishor Nagrales team led by SI Shinde investigated the case. The matter is being further watched under Zonal DCP Lohit Matani.
