After lockdown was imposed in Amravati district, Akola district divisional commissioner Jitendra Papalkar informed that parts of Akola district will also be under lockdown.

After lockdown in Amravati district was announced on Sunday because of surge in COVID-19 cases, Akola district divisional commissioner Jitendra Papalkar informed that parts of Akola district will also be under lockdown.

While Amravati district (excluding Achalpur city) will go into lockdown for one week starting at 8 pm on Monday, Akola city, Murtizapur, and Akot city will be under lockdown from Tuesday till March 1. While shops selling essential items will be allowed to operate from 8 am to 3 pm, other shops will remain completely closed. Other parts of Akola district such as Telhara, Balapur, Barshitakli, and Patur will be under different restrictions as separate lockdown orders have been issued for the same.
