Fuel price hike: 1-litre petrol to cost ₹110.08 in Amravati, ₹108.67 in Nagpur

Fuel prices in India were hiked again on Tuesday, October 5. This hike was done after a long gap since the last, which was done in mid-September.
Petrol price was increased by ₹25 paise and diesel rates rose by ₹30 paise a litre, respectively.
The price of petrol in Delhi rose to its highest ever level of ₹102.64 a litre and to ₹108.67 in Mumbai, according to a notification of state-owned fuel retailers.
However, in the Amravati district of Maharashtra, one litre of petrol would now cost ₹110.08. While in Nagpur, the rates were the same as in Mumbai (₹108.67).
Along with petrol, diesel rates too touched skies. One litre of diesel would cost ₹91.07 in Delhi and ₹98.80 in Mumbai.
The fuel rates in India generally depended on the price of crude oil in the international market and rupee-dollar exchange rates.
Prices in different states change due to local taxes and state-imposed taxes.
State-owned Indian Oil Corp (IOC), Bharat Petroleum Corp Ltd (BPCL) and Hindustan Petroleum Corp Ltd (HPCL) resumed daily price revisions on September 24 after international oil prices neared a three-year high.
Currently, the global benchmark Brent crude is trading above $78 (₹5,807.41 per barrel).
Fuel prices in India had seen a downfall in the month of July and August, when the crude oil rates in the international market fell.
Petrol and diesel rates were lowered by ?0.65 and ₹1.25 per litre.

An elderly couple was mauled by a tiger in Chor Bawali on January 25 while on their way from Narsinghpur (Madhya Pradesh) to Nagpur on January 25. The couple was accompanied by their 25-year-old son in a car. Following the tiger attack, the couple was admitted to Kingsway Hospital in Nagpur.
While on their way to Nagpur, the family of three stopped near Chor Bawali for passing urine. When the 58-year-old woman got out of the car, the tiger, which was probably wounded by a previous vehicular assault, caught hold of the woman’s hand and bit her thumb. When the woman’s husband stepped out of the car to help his wife, the tiger attacked him as well and injured his right leg. A terrfied son started throwing stones at the tiger, who eventually ran away.
The couple was given first aid by the bystanders before being driven to Nagpur by the son to Kingsway hospital. Speaking to Nation Next, treating surgeon Dr Prakash Jain informed that the family was terrified when it arrived at the hospital. Dr Jain said: “The couple is now stable. Tiger mauling is always serious. The couple was lucky to have sustained minor injuries in the incident.”
