On PM Modi’s 71st birthday today, India administers 2 crore vaccines

Amid third wave threats, India achieved a historic landmark in the fight against COVID-19. Today, on the 71st birthday of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, India administered two crore COVID-19 vaccines.
Union Home Minister Mansukh Mandaviya shared this news on his Twitter account. According to the Union Health Ministry, India had administered over one crore vaccines by 1:30 pm today.
As per reports, the target of two crore vaccines was achieved in near about nine hours. PM Modi congratulated healthcare workers on this achievement.
?Every Indian would be proud of today’s record vaccination numbers. I acknowledge our doctors, innovators, administrators, nurses, healthcare and all front-line workers who have toiled to make the vaccination drive a success. Let us keep boosting vaccination to defeat COVID-19, wrote PM Modi, on Twitter.

Reportedly, the Central government’s tracker showed around 800 vaccinations per second or around 48,000 in a minute. Calling it a historic day, experts believed that it would be an excellent resistance to the third wave of COVID-19.

Active COVID cases near 30,000 mark in Nagpur

Nagpur’s COVID-19 tally, on Tuesday, January 25, reached 5,43,064 (till 5 pm) as 4028 (972 from rural and 2956 from city) new cases were recorded in a single day.
Also, active COVID cases, as on Tuesday, could be seen inching closer to 30,000 mark in the district.
