DCP Neelotpals squad recover jewellery worth over ₹6 lakh after one month of crime
A team of Nagpur Police led by Zone V DCP Neelotpal, on Wednesday, recovered gold and silver ornaments worth ₹6, 38,000 in gold shop robbery case, which happened a month ago in Jaripatka, Nagpur.
On 5 July, three masked men robbed jeweller Ashish Naware at his shop Anvi Jewellers in Nagsen Nagar of Jaripatka area, in Nagpur.
Meanwhile, the fourth companion was waiting outside the shop, the shutter, of which the robbers shut from inside.
The robbers tied the 35-year-old Naware and taped his mouth before fleeing the scene.
DCP Neelotpals team rushed to the spot and started their investigation.
As per officials, the accused Govind Harishchandra Pande, was constantly being chased by Nagpur Police in different states such as Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh.
When 27-year-old Pande ran out of money while he was on the run, he himself came to the court and surrendered seven days ago.
The officers then took him in police custody; he was interrogated at Jaripatka Police Station.
Reportedly, during his interrogation, Pande revealed that he had hid the stolen gold and silver ornaments in a steel box, which he had buried behind his house in Pratapgarh, Uttar Pradesh.
A team of officers went to Pratapgarh and recovered the stolen gold and silver ornaments.
According to officers, 153 gram of gold worth ₹6,09,000 and 480 gram of silver valued at ₹29,000 was found in the steel box.
Till date, cops have recovered 164 grams gold, 1.3 kg silver and one Samsung mobile phone in the case.
When the four accused fled the scene after robbing Naware, their actions were recorded on the CCTV camera, which helped DCP Neelotpal and this squad to track them.
According to officials, the accused stole 300 grams gold worth Rs ₹12,00,000 along with silver ornaments valued at ₹5,00,000.
They also took ₹3,50,000 cash and a Samsung mobile phone worth ₹20,000 from Naware.
The men had been booked under sections 452, 394, 397 and 34 of the IPC and sections 3 and 25 of the Arms Act.

Miscreants vandalise property at Nagpur’s Bishop Cotton School, throw liquor bottles in classrooms
Some unknown miscreants in Nagpur vandalised Bishop Cotton School situated on VIP in Dharampeth during the weekend. Apart from the broken plant pots and damaged earthing wires, empty alcohol bottles could also be seen thrown on the floor of the classrooms.
Prima facie it seems some drunkards might have used the school as their hang out place to consume alcohol as it was a weekend and the school was closed. However, nothing could be ascertained as of now; the investigation on the same is on.

ED arrests Nagpur advocate Satish Ukey who filed petition against Fadnavis

Enforcement Directorate (ED) took the custody of RTI activist advocate Satish Ukey and his brother Pradeep Ukey after raiding the former’s residence at Parvati Nagar in Nagpur on Thursday morning at 7 am. Satish, who is also the lawyer of MPCC President Nana Patole, had filed an election petition against former Chief Minister and Leader of the Opposition (LoP) Devendra Fadnavis.
Ukey had alleged that Fadnavis hadn’t disclosed pending criminal cases against him while filing his nomination papers for the 2009 and 2014 Assembly elections, and thus violated the Representation of People’s Act, 1951. For the past few years, Ukey had also been filing petitions in court against several BJP leaders.
During the raid, an army of Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) personnel was also deployed under his house. The crime branch had issued a notice to Ukey regarding a land transaction in Nagpur.
