Cops tighten security as Opposition, protesting farmers enter Delhi
Since the beginning of parliaments monsoon session, the farmers protest and farm laws have been a hot topic of discussion, on which, the Opposition is attacking Centre and disturbing parliamentary proceedings.
In a new development on the matter, the Opposition including Congress, Shiromani Akali Dal, Aam Aadmi Party along with Bharatiya Kisan Union (BKU) and other farmer associations, today, staged protest against Centre’s three controversial farm laws, in Delhi.
Congress leader Rahul Gandhi along with Congress MPs agitated near Gandhi statue in parliament premises.
While BKU leaders gathered their supporters and marched at Delhis Jantar Mantar to protest against farm laws.
The Rajya Sabha and Lok Sabha were also adjourned till 2 pm because of Oppositions uproar and rucks.
In addition to this, SAD MPs held placards in front of Union Agriculture Minister Narendra Singh Tomar as he entered parliament.
Supporting farm laws, Narendra Singh Tomar, said, Country has witnessed that these farm laws are beneficial & are in favour of farmers. We have had discussions about these laws. If they express their issues with the laws point-wise, we can discuss it.
However, BKU leader Rakesh Tikait, said, I, along with eight others (protesting farmers) will leave for the Singhu border, and then will go to Jantar Mantar. We will hold ‘Kisan Sansad’ at Jantar Mantar. We will monitor Parliament proceedings.
As per the latest reports, the Delhi Police has tightened security at Jantar Mantar, Singhu- Tikri border and areas near parliament building to avoid situations like the Republic day violence.
Visuals from Jantar Mantar, which came in early morning, showed heavy barricading and all necessary arrangements made by CRPF and Delhi Ploice to avoid violence were done.

Indian student killed during shelling in Ukraines Kharkiv

An Indian student was killed during shelling in Ukraines Kharkiv on Tuesday morning, Ministry of External Affairs informed in the afternoon. The Ministry tweeted: ?With profound sorrow we confirm that an Indian student lost his life in shelling in Kharkiv this morning. The Ministry is in touch with his family. We convey our deepest condolences to the family.
In Kharkiv, Ukraine’s second largest city, videos showed extensive damage from the Russian military assault. One video showed the city’s largest government building blown up.
While the student is yet to be named by the MEA, sources in the Karnataka state government told The Quint that he had been identified as Naveen Shekhrappa, from Haveri district, Karnataka. The 21-year-old was a student of medicine at Kharkiv National Medical University.
The News Minute reported that Shekhrappa was standing in a queue at a supermarket in Kharkiv to buy food when Russian shelling began.
