IPS Jyoti Krishan Dutt, Former Director General, National Security Guard

JK Dutt, the former Director General of National Security Guard (NSG), who headed the commando force during the 26/11 terror attacks in Mumbai in 2008, died due to COVID-a9 related complications on Wednesday at the age of 72.

Family sources said that Dutt was admitted at the Medanta Hospital in Gurugram after his oxygen saturation started declining. “He passed away today at 3:30 om after suffering a massive cardiac arrest,” one of the family members told PTI.

Dutt, a retired IPS officer, served as DG of NSG from August 2006 to February 2009, after which, he retired from service. The NSG condoled Dutt’s death through a message on Twitter. The message read: “NSG condoles the sad and untimely demise of former DG and remembers his distinguished service to the Nation. He will always be remembered for his leadership during Op Black Tornado( Mumbai 2008 ) . May Almighty rest his noble soul in eternal peace and give strength to his family to bear the loss.”

KK passed away at the age of 53 in Kolkata

Renowned playback singer Krishnakumar Kunnath, popularly known as KK, passed away at the age of 53 in Kolkata. The singer performed at Nazul Mancha auditorium on Tuesday (May 31). He went to his hotel after his performance and collapsed. He was rushed to Calcutta Medical Research Institute (CMRI) at around 10:30 pm, where he was declared brought dead by the doctors. The exact cause of his death is unknown as of now.

Shane Warne, the legendary Australian spinner, passed away at the age of 52 after suffering a suspected heart attack, his management has confirmed.

A statement by the managenent read: “Shane was found unresponsive in his villa and despite the best efforts of medical staff, he could not be revived. The family requests privacy at this time and will provide further details in due course.”
