Television actor Ratan Pratap from Nagpur has been awarded by the ?World Book Of Records for his contribution to COVID-19 relief initiatives throughout the last year. World Book of Records (WBR) works from all continents with a global network.
It recognises potential talent and capabilities in world records through international certification. It also honours personalities and places of outstanding contribution for humanity and universal peace. The organisation has now acknowledged Ratans efforts towards relief measures for the on-going pandemic.
Ratan Pratap has also been commended for his work with the migrant labour camps in Nagpur last year. The host turned actor spent six months of the lockdown 2.0 in Nagpur and also volunteered at a migrant labour camp.
He was seen at the camp educating the residents about personal hygiene and safety measures. He also conducted some morale boosting exercises with the migrant labourers. WBR has also pointed out the several online initiatives Ratan has sphere headed like fund raising for labourers that were out of work due to the pandemic.
I am truly honoured for this certification by the World Book of Records. Although, I believe there is so much more that I wish to do. I want to get involved in more ground work. The second wave has really put us all to test. We are losing out loved ones everyday. I wish to contribute to the medical infrastructure in whatever little way I can. But, it’s always nice when someone acknowledges your good work and gives you a pat on the back. This is a great motivation for me to work harder and help as much more as I can, Ratan said.
Ratan Pratap, who rose to fame by hosting dance shows on television and digital shows, was speculated to make his acting debut this year. This was followed by rumours of Ratan quitting his debut show due to Covid in February.
Timing is everything. I could have lied about my sickness and gone onto the set (like some have) but that’s inhumane. Sometimes you have to prioritise your health. And I am not someone who will jeopardise other’s health for my personal gains. I really believe that everything happens for a reason. I am lucky to have more opportunities ahead of me and I am excited to get back to work when things are slightly better. At present I hope everyone is at home and safe, he explained.
