Chairman of India’s biggest gold-backed lender Muthoot Group, billionaire MG George passes away

Muthoot Group Chairman MG George Muthoot passed away in New Delhi on Friday evening (March 5) at the age of 71. Muthoot, who was the third generation from his family to become the chairman, was handling ? Muthoot Finance ? is the largest Gold Loan Non-Banking Financial Company (NBFC) in India.

He also served as a member of the National Executive Committee of the FICCI and was one of the six Malayalees who had made it to the Forbes Magazine’s Rich List in 2020.

As per Forbes Magazine last year, he was the 26th richest person in India with a fortune of $4.8 billion (approx. Rs 36,000 crore).

He is survived by wife Sara George Muthoot and two sons George M George and Alexander George.

KK passed away at the age of 53 in Kolkata

Renowned playback singer Krishnakumar Kunnath, popularly known as KK, passed away at the age of 53 in Kolkata. The singer performed at Nazul Mancha auditorium on Tuesday (May 31). He went to his hotel after his performance and collapsed. He was rushed to Calcutta Medical Research Institute (CMRI) at around 10:30 pm, where he was declared brought dead by the doctors. The exact cause of his death is unknown as of now.

Shane Warne

Shane Warne, the legendary Australian spinner, passed away at the age of 52 after suffering a suspected heart attack, his management has confirmed.

A statement by the managenent read: “Shane was found unresponsive in his villa and despite the best efforts of medical staff, he could not be revived. The family requests privacy at this time and will provide further details in due course.”
