Renowned fashion designer Satya Paul passes away at 79 in Coimbatore

Noted fashion designer Satya Paul (79), founder of the famous fashion clothing brand after his name, passed away at Isha Yoga Centre in Coimbatore on January 6.

Pauls son Puneet Nanda informed through a Facebook post that the iconic designer suffered a stroke in December and was recovering in a hospital before he was moved to Isha Yoga Centre. Puneet wrote: He had a stroke on December 2 and as he was slowly recovering in the hospital. His only wish was to get all the things he was being monitored and poked with (in the hospital) removed so that he could fly away. We finally got clearance from doctors to take him back to Isha Yoga Center, his home since 2015.

Sadhguru, Founder ofIsha Foundation, tweeted a picture of Paul to condole the demise of the visionary fashion designer. Sadhguru wrote: Satya Paul, a shining example of what it means to live with immeasurable passion and unrelenting involvement. The distinct vision you brought to the Indian fashion industry is a beautiful tribute to this. A privilege to have had you amongst us. Condolences and blessings.

The Satya Paul label, which is for its indigenous prints, was founded on April 1, 1985 by the late designer. The brand is well-known worldwide for its ingenuity, design sensibility and for the usage of a vivid colour palette. The brand, which grew from strength to strength since 1985, exports its handloom products pan-India and also to high-end retail stores in Europe and America.

KK passed away at the age of 53 in Kolkata

Renowned playback singer Krishnakumar Kunnath, popularly known as KK, passed away at the age of 53 in Kolkata. The singer performed at Nazul Mancha auditorium on Tuesday (May 31). He went to his hotel after his performance and collapsed. He was rushed to Calcutta Medical Research Institute (CMRI) at around 10:30 pm, where he was declared brought dead by the doctors. The exact cause of his death is unknown as of now.

Saddened by the untimely demise of noted singer Krishnakumar Kunnath popularly known as KK. His songs reflected a wide range of emotions as struck a chord with people of all age groups. We will always remember him through his songs. Condolences to his family and fans. Om Shanti.

Shane Warne, the legendary Australian spinner, passed away at the age of 52 after suffering a suspected heart attack, his management has confirmed.

A statement by the managenent read: “Shane was found unresponsive in his villa and despite the best efforts of medical staff, he could not be revived. The family requests privacy at this time and will provide further details in due course.”
