Nagpur lawyer runs 100 kms with Tricolour across city to spread message of togetherness
Ashish Agrawal
Nagpur lawyer Ashish Agrawal, who’s also an active marathon runner, ran 100 kms across the city on November 22 with the Indian flag in hand to spread the message of togetherness. Ashishs run was part of a virtual Ultra Marathon, which was organised by Bhatinda Runners.
Speaking about his 100 kms run, Ashish said: I like a challenge and when I signed up for the 100K run, I decided to train hard for it and complete it. Ashish, who trains for his races at Jai Athletics Club under the supervision of Dr Sunil Kapgate Sir, added: It was absolutely beautiful. It was a hard race because it was the first time running an ultra marathon. It has been a long time since I ran my last full marathon (42.2Kms). I was running without knowing what was going to happen to my body because I had never run that distance before. Even during training, I had run only up to 30 kms. It was easy for me to accept the pain because I didn’t know what was coming.

Ashish, who has run many marathons over the years, said: Regardless of your experience, a hundred kilometers will hurt a lot and for a very long time. The toughest part of the race is between the 60th and 80th kilometer. That is the time to on supplements, to reload, and to adjust. It revives and pushes a person to the 80 kms mark. After 80, I got comfortable because I knew I just had to run another 20 kms.
