Band Baja Baraat: NMC permits bands to be played at weddings but with restrictions

Under the Mission Begin Again initiative, Nagpur Municipal Commissioner Radhakrishnan B allowed bands to play during weddings in the city, however, following COVID-19 guidelines issued for the same.
Considering the present COVID-19 situation in Nagpur, the band strength should be counted among the 50 guests, who have been permitted to attend the wedding.

Following terms and conditions have been levied by NMC, while permitting wedding bands to resume their business:
1) The band players would not be allowed to play after 9 pm.
2) The band members would have to maintain social distancing without crowding at one place.
3) All members would have to wear a facemask and use sanitizer.
4) Owners of the band would be required to conduct regular thermal scanning of all members of the band.
5) If a band member develops fever or shows other COVID-19 related symptoms, he or she should not be included in the squad.
6) It would be made mandatory for the band to disinfect all necessary materials regularly before use.
7) All band members should strictly follow COVID-19 norms given by the government and NMC from time to time.

Active COVID cases near 30,000 mark in Nagpur
Nagpur’s COVID-19 tally, on Tuesday, January 25, reached 5,43,064 (till 5 pm) as 4028 (972 from rural and 2956 from city) new cases were recorded in a single day.
Also, active COVID cases, as on Tuesday, could be seen inching closer to 30,000 mark in the district.

Nagpur’s COVID-19 tally on Sunday, January 2 reached 4,94,193 (till 5 pm) as 90 (73 city, nine rural) more people tested positive for the virus.

Nagpur registered 88 (81 from city) new COVID-19 positive cases on Friday, December 31. Nagpur previously had recorded as minimum as six cases on December 24.
