Delhi can soon become ‘Corona capital’ of India, High Court warns AAP
People living in Delhi could face severe health crisis vis-vis COVID-19 after the capital recorded 6,842 new COVID-19 cases in a single day making the count of number of active cases hit 409,000. Delhi High Court on Thursday morning expressed concern regarding the rising number of COVID-19 cases in the city.
A bench of justice comprising Hima Kohli and Subramonium Prasad accused the Delhi government for making false claims on doing a good job at handling Covid cases.
It’s the height of mismanagement; cases are rapidly rising each day? said the bench. The bench continued to say that AAP government failed to fulfill their duties and as result, people living in Delhi were losing their lives.
Delhi government should take this more seriously; they are playing with the lives of citizens of Delhi? the bench added.
Doctors, medical staff, teachers, nurses, frontline workers and north Delhi MNC officials had knocked the doors of Delhi High Court for the non-payment of their salaries.
We are putting our lives in danger for the sake of our people; Delhi government doesn’t seem to care about it? said a doctor who is waiting for his salary for last three months. While listening to these petitions the bench called out Delhi government for playing with the lives of the COVID-19 warriors.
Things are getting out of hands; we fear Delhi will soon become Corona capital of India? the bench added.
Delhi recorded a significant drop in its air quality.
Meanwhile, Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal asked the citizens to prepare themselves for the third COVID-19 wave.
