PM Modi issues Rs 100 commemorative coin in honour of Rajmata Vijay Raje Scindia

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday released a commemorative coin of ₹100 in honour of Rajmata of Gwalior Vijaya Raje Scindia. The coin was released through a virtual ceremony celebration of Rajes birth centenary amid her family members and other dignitaries.

Coming from a royal family, Raje was a Jana Sangh leader and one of the founding members of the BJP. The Finance Ministry minted the special commemorative coin as a part of these celebrations.

Tomorrow, 12th October is the Jayanti of Rajmata Vijaya Raje Scindia. On this special day, commemorative coin of ₹100 would be released at 11 AM. This is a part of her birth centenary celebrations and is yet another occasion to pay tributes to her great personality, tweeted Modi.


Grandmother of BJP leader and Rajya Sabha MP Jyotiraditya Scindia and mother of BJP leader Vasundhara Raje, was born on October 12, 1919.

KK passed away at the age of 53 in Kolkata

Renowned playback singer Krishnakumar Kunnath, popularly known as KK, passed away at the age of 53 in Kolkata. The singer performed at Nazul Mancha auditorium on Tuesday (May 31). He went to his hotel after his performance and collapsed. He was rushed to Calcutta Medical Research Institute (CMRI) at around 10:30 pm, where he was declared brought dead by the doctors. The exact cause of his death is unknown as of now.

Shane Warne, the legendary Australian spinner, passed away at the age of 52 after suffering a suspected heart attack, his management has confirmed.

A statement by the managenent read: “Shane was found unresponsive in his villa and despite the best efforts of medical staff, he could not be revived. The family requests privacy at this time and will provide further details in due course.”
