Former Defence Minister Jaswant Singh passes away

Former Defence Minister and former External Affairs Minister in the Atal Bihari Vajpayee-led BJP government, Jaswant Singh (82) passed away today morning (Sunday, September 27) at 06:55 am.

Singh, who was in a comatose condition since 2014, suffered a cardiac arrest. He was being treated at the Army Research and Referral Hospital, New Delhi.

He was in an extremely critical condition for years after suffering head injuries following a fall at his residence in 2014. Singh, the former BJP leader, was expelled from the BJP in 2014 after he decided to contest the Lok Sabha polls from Barmer in Rajasthan as an Independent candidate when the party decided to field Colonel Sonaram Chaudhary.

Jaswant Singh Ji served our nation diligently, first as a soldier and later during his long association with politics. During Atal Jis Government, he handled crucial portfolios and left a strong mark in the worlds of finance, defence and external affairs. Saddened by his demise.

KK passed away at the age of 53 in Kolkata

Renowned playback singer Krishnakumar Kunnath, popularly known as KK, passed away at the age of 53 in Kolkata. The singer performed at Nazul Mancha auditorium on Tuesday (May 31). He went to his hotel after his performance and collapsed. He was rushed to Calcutta Medical Research Institute (CMRI) at around 10:30 pm, where he was declared brought dead by the doctors. The exact cause of his death is unknown as of now.

Saddened by the untimely demise of noted singer Krishnakumar Kunnath popularly known as KK. His songs reflected a wide range of emotions as struck a chord with people of all age groups. We will always remember him through his songs. Condolences to his family and fans. Om Shanti.

Shane Warne, the legendary Australian spinner, passed away at the age of 52 after suffering a suspected heart attack, his management has confirmed.

A statement by the managenent read: “Shane was found unresponsive in his villa and despite the best efforts of medical staff, he could not be revived. The family requests privacy at this time and will provide further details in due course.”
