The World Health Organisation (WHO), on August 18, said that it was concerned that COVID-19 spread was now being driven by people in their 20s, 30s and 40s. WHO added that many of these people may be unaware about getting infected and hence may be a threat to vulnerable groups.
WHO Western Pacific regional director, Takeshi Kasai said during a virtual briefing: The epidemic is changing. People in their 20s, 30s and 40s are increasingly driving the spread. Many are unaware they are infected. This increases the risk of spillovers to the more vulnerable.
