Leena Yadav’s ‘Parched’ trailer released. It’s gripping and makes you want more from the movie!

The official trailer of ‘Parched’, the movie directed by filmmaker Leena Yadav and produced by Ajay Devgn was released yesterday on Ajay Devgn’s official YouTube channel. In just a day, the intense trailer has garnered more than 8,75,000 views!
Parched is going to be released in India on September 23, 2016, and has been given an ‘A’ certificate. The movie was released in TIFF (Toronto International film festival) last year where it got rave reviews. Parched has been received well at 24 International film festivals and the film has already got 18 awards.
Parched is a story of four women in the rural Indian village called Ujhaas, and their struggles with issues like marital rape, patriarchy, and misogyny. Parched has Radhika Apte, Tannistha Chatterjee, Surveen Chawla, Adil Hussain, Chandan Anand, Lehar Khan and Sayani Gupta in important roles.
While the two-and-a-half minute trailer keeps you hooked, the glimpse of the gripping and intense performances by the actors makes you want more of the movie! The mesmerising background Rajasthani folk music in the trailer adds to the charm. The cherry on the cake is Ajay Devgn’s voiceover of the Sanskrit shlok at the end of the trailer – ‘Yatra Naryastu pujyante ramante tatra Devat’ – which means ‘wherever women are respected, the deities like to reside there.’

Film Review: At 50, Madhuri seduces the camera like never before, fulfills her fans Bucket List

Film Review at Nation Next: Bucket List
Synopsis: Bucket List, directed by Tejas Prabha Vijay Deoskar, is the story of a simple homemaker from Pune ? Madhura Sane ? played by Madhuri Dixit Nene. After undergoing a heart transplant, Madhura sets out to discover details about her organ donor, only to realise that the donor was a 20-year-old girl named Sai Deshpande. In the process of her discovery, Madhura stumbles upon a list of Sais unfulfilled desires. As a mark of gratitude to Sais heart that is alive in Madhuras body, she strives to complete Sais ?Bucket List. It’s while ticking off items one by one in the bucket list, Madhura finds herself on the path of self-discovery and self-realisation.
Madhura is a traditional yet adventurous, rooted yet free-spirited woman, who when tastes freedom, sheds inhibitions and ditches familial norms to achieve her bucket list. From riding a Harley Davidson and getting sloshed in a pub, to getting arrested by cops and going ?viral, this quintessential ?gruhini? of an upper middle class Maharastrian family starts living life no-holds-barred.
While the director – Tejas Prabha Vijay Deoskar – has cleverly concealed being in awe of ‘Madhuri – the star,’ his fondness towards ‘Madhuri – the actor’ is palpable in the film. Full marks to 35-year-old Tejas for striking a fine balance in exploring the stardom and acting prowess of Madhuri Dixit, whom he is directing for the first time in ‘Bucket List.’
Ranbir Kapoors cameo appearance in the movie further paces up an already breezy and effortless screenplay. Sumeet Raghavan (Mohan), in a diversion from his charming boyish character ‘Sahil’ of Sarabhai Vs Sarabhai, fits the bill perfectly as Madhuras mature and supportive husband. Madhuras mother-in-law played by seasoned actor Vandana Gupte justifies her role of a Punekar to the T, with her hilarious Hindi dialogues decorated with Marathi accent and words. Resham Tipnis, as Lavina Mewara, portrays the character of a fun-loving and carefree girl, who timely convinces Madhura to commit mistakes, unapologetically.
Renuka Shahane, who plays Sais mother, recreates magic with Madhuri as she reunites with her on the silver screen after 23 years of Hum Aapke Hai Koun..! Veteran actor Shubha Khote effortlessly hogs the limelight as the super-cool Panji? (Madhuras grandmother-in-law). Such is Panjis cool quotient that she recommends Madhura to have tequila shots, wine, whiskey and beer (in the same order) at the pub. She even offers Madhura a spoonful of curd as a good omen before the latter makes her drinking debut!
As a smart marketing move, this family-drama accommodates multiple in-film branding of certain brands i.e. Saraswat Bank, Max Fashion, Make My Trip, etc., which are targeted towards family audience. However, on certain occasions, the branding becomes a bit in the face. Cinematographer Arjun Sorte has done a great job by showcasing locations aesthetically, especially Madhuris picturesque house and the portions shots in Malaysia. Music is soothing! Music composers Rohan Pradhan and Rohan Gokhale have also done a fine job with the background score of the film.
Bucket List becomes dull and dragged in certain scenes (like the pub scene where Madhuri gets into drunken tomfoolery) but, immediately bounces back with emotional moments. At some places, the movie is relatable with the Sridevi starrer English Vinglish, as Madhuras daughter Radhika also trivialises her mother’s efforts, only to realise her worth in the end.
Bucket List is a movie not-to-be missed by Madhuri fans. With chaste Marathi and simple sarees, Madhuri, in her debut Marathi film, is every bit of a domestic goddess, who seduces the camera even in her 50s.

Web Series Review: ‘Sex Chat with Pappu & Papa’ tells you, don’t guard your kids, guide them about sex!

Web Series: ‘Sex Chat with Pappu & Papa’ by Y Films
Education is an integral part of parenting, and parents want the best of the education for their kids. But when it comes to sex education, their focus takes a beating. They tend to hesitate. Most of the schools have started providing sex education but they have a clinical approach to it. The major sources of sex education for kids still remain those cheap magazines/ videos or the cousins or the friends, who themselves are greenhorns, and not sex experts. Sex Chat with Pappu & Papa, a web series by Y Films, a division of Yash Raj Films, has tried to deal with this sensitive issue with a sensible yet lighter approach.
It is one of a kind series, which explores sex education in the simplest possible manner. Parents and kids can sit and watch this video series together, without a feeling of awkwardness. It’s entertains while it educates.
In this series Pappu, the kid, asks his Papa certain genuine questions pertaining to sex. Papa is sandwitched between a mashup of his modern and orthodox approach while taking on such honest questions by Pappu. Finally, Papa, unlike his own father, doesn’t shy away and faces the questions related to sex by Pappu with élan. Papa educates Pappu and us all in a funny but graceful manner.
Writers Gopa Datt and Devang Kakkad have successfully depicted otherwise tabooed issues like sex, masturbation, menstrual periods, condoms, pregnancy and homosexuality with a nonchalant grace. The web series stars Anand Tiwari, Kabir Sajid, Sanjeeda Shaikh, Alka Amin and veteran actor Sachin Pilgaonkar. Every actor in the frame justifies his/her character.
Nation Next Takeaway:
Don’t shy away from sex education, which is an intrinsic part of parenting! Unguided self exploration by kids is dangerous. Let’s guard our kids not from information on sex, but from misinformation and disinformation on sex!
