Ministry of drinking water and sanitation launches tv series ‘Hum Saaf Saaf Hain’ on Rishtey channel

Ministry of Drinking Water & Sanitation (MDWS) partnered with HDFC Limited and Viacom18 to create a finite series Hum Saath Saath Hain to engage and entertain viewers on the importance of sanitation.
The 7-week long series will premiere on Rishtey starting 16th February 2019; every Sat-Sun at 9:30 PM.
Emphasising on the importance of sanitation and hygiene in the country, leading Hindi mass entertainment channel Rishtey is soon to launch a new finite series called Hum Saaf Saaf Hain. The 14-episode finite series, Hum Saaf Saaf Hain is a social comedy that trails the journey of an under-cover government official who goes from village to village checking up on the implementation of the Swachh Bharat Abhiyaan. The show will air on Rishtey starting 16h February 2019, every Saturday and Sunday at 9:30 PM.
Commenting on the initiative, Parameswaran Iyer, Secretary – Ministry of Drinking Water and Sanitation said, Under the inspirational leadership of the Hon’ble Prime Minister, the Swachh Bharat Mission (grameen) has become a people’s movement, revolutionising sanitation in rural India. We are poised at the brink of achieving an Open Defecation Free (ODF) India, with 5.5 lakh villages and 600 districts already declared free from open defecation. The need of the future is to sustain these outcomes through continuous efforts made to reinforce the messages of safe sanitation and cleanliness. I am very happy that Viacom 18 Media Pvt. Limited and HDFC Limited are supporting the Swachh Bharat Mission and have produced Hum Saaf Saaf Hain? – an entertainment-packed show for the full family that carries the message of sustained sanitation in families and communities. The show promises to be a family entertainer, which will not just tickle their funny bones but also enlighten them on the importance of sanitation and hygiene. The show will highlight issues such as Swacchagris, toilets for the differently-abled, womens safety and hygiene, ODF Plus and more with the twist of humour to engage the audiences.

Commissioned by the Ministry of Drinking Water and Sanitation in partnership with HDFC Limited, a leading financial conglomerate, Hum Saaf Saaf Hain is being produced by Colosceum Media. The lead actor of the show is the humorous and witty Rajesh Kumar, known for his popular stint as Rosesh Sarabhai. He will be seen playing the main character of Hero Bhaiya? who is a government clerk in his mid-thirties, finally getting a chance to fulfill his long-term dream of being a spy. The stellar cast also includes Gulki Joshi who will be seen playing the character of Archana- an ambitious schoolteacher and Shashi Rajan who will essay the role of Gobind among others.

‘Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hain’ actress Mohena Kumari tests positive for coronavirus
Actress Mohena Kumari, who acted in the popular television show, Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai has tested positive for coronavirus. Mohena Kumari, is married to Suyyesh Rawat, who is the son of Uttarakhand Tourism Minister Satpal Maharaj, who tested positive for COVID-19 along with six members of his family on Sunday. The entire family is currently hospitalized.
In an interview with ETimes, the actress confirmed the news and said that she is doing fine now. The actress said, Yes, the news is true. Seven from our family have tested positive for COVID-19 but we are doing fine now. Right now, we are in the hospital. My brother-in-laws latest report has come negative, so hes fine now. There are other people too apart from the family. We had very mild symptoms and we thought it must be because of the change in weather.

The actress added, Coronavirus is such that it spreads like a wild fire. First my mother-in-law got it but her symptoms were so mild that we couldn’t figure it out. It is our second day in the hospital, everyone is showing the signs of recovery and we will be fine soon. We are in quarantine now and getting treatment.

22-year-old reality show winner Mebiena Michael dies in road accident

In a tragic incident, 22-year-old actress Kannada Mebiena Michael died in a car accident while she was on her way to her home in Madikeri on May 26 evening. The accident took place near Devihalli in Karnataka.
Mebiena, who won the Season 4 of reality show Pyaate Hudugir Halli Life,’ was accompanied by friends in her car when suddenly the car rammed into a tractor, which was taking a turn. The passengers were immediately rushed to Adichuchunagiri Institute of Medical Sciences and Hospital. While her friends are showing signs of recovery, Mebiena unfortunately succumbed to her injuries.
Expressing shock and grief over her demise, host of Pyaate Hudugir Halli Life, Season 4, Akul Balaji tweeted, Shock to hear the sudden demise of one of my favourite contestant and winner of PHHL 4.. Mebiena, soo young and full of life, cant digest the fact.. my prayers for her family to ger over the tragedy.

Veteran TV actor Ashiesh Roy admitted in ICU, asks for financial help on Facebook

Veteran television actor Ashiesh Roy has been admitted at a hospital in Mumbai for dialysis and asked for financial help through a Facebook post. Roy took to Facebook to share sharing two updates on May 17, mentioning that he was in the ICU and needed money urgently for dialysis.
In the past few years, the 55-year-old actor has been admitted to hospital several times due to his various health issues. Back in January, the actor was hospitalised for water retention.
Filmmaker Hansal Mehta took to Twitter, urging film associations to raise money for Roy. Mehta wrote: Actor Ashish Roy (Bond) is seriously ill, on dialysis and in the ICU. He has appealed for financial help on FB. I’m doing all I can to help. Can industry associations also help the ailing actor??

Mehta, who directed the film Aligarh, tagged Sushant Singh, General secretary of Cine and TV ArtistesAssociation (CINTAA) and Ashoke Pandit, Chief advisor of Federation of Western India Cine Employees (FWICE).
Roy has been active in entertainment industry since the late 1990s. Over the years, Roy has starred in shows like Sasural Simar Ka, Kuch Rang Pyar Ke Aise Bhi?, Jeannie Aur Juju, Baa Bahu Aur Baby, Mrs And Mr Sharma Allahabad Wale, and Tu Mere Agal Bagal Hai.
