An unmarried woman (40) lodged a complaint at Ranapratap Nagar Police Station in Nagpur against her tenant ‘ Ramkishan Shopal Jangid (48) and his wife (43) ‘ for allegedly sexually abusing her for nine years from 2011 to 2020. The survivor, who was the landlady of the accused couple, claimed that for nine years, the husband raped her and the wife had unnatural sex with her.
Not just this, the woman also said that the couple, residing at Shanti Vihar Residency at Datey Layout in Sonegaon, even filmed all the above acts. She further said that more than the husband, it was the wife who abused her sexually.
Taking note of the same, cops arrested the accused couple and sent them to jail.
The woman said that initially, she shared a good relationship with the couple and their two children. As a result, the husband and wife frequently invited her home for tea.
One day, the wife, who reportedly was too aggressive in her acts, pulled the woman close to her and allegedly indulged in unnatural sex; her husband too allegedly raped the woman.
Whenever the woman refused to have intercourse with the husband, the wife would allegedly blackmail her by reminding her of the videos. For years, the couple allegedly indulged in sexual relations with the woman.
Finally, on July 19, 2020 the woman filed a complaint against the couple after the latter threatened to kill her.
Meanwhile, cops at Ranapratap Nagar Police Station said since the woman belonged to the Scheduled Tribe, a case of atrocity would also be registered in the case. Senior police inspector (PI) BS Khandale told Nation Next that the woman’s caste certificates were verified on Wednesday and a suitable action vis-à-vis atrocity would soon be taken.
BS Khandale further said, The unmarried woman, who is a lawyer by profession, earlier had a boyfriend. The couple made her break-up with him. The three had made an agreement that the former would stay with the couple. The agreement also mentioned that the woman wouldn’t work or marry anybody. The woman used to regularly visit the couple at their residence in Date Layout. One fine day, when the couple asked her to stop visiting their house, the woman filed a police complaint against the two.
Khandale further said, The woman blamed the couple for her break-up and for her strained relation with her relatives; she was suddenly left to fend for her herself.
Zone 1 DCP Vivek Masal told Nation Next, Ramkishan was arrested on July 21 but his wife wasn’t arrested the same day as it was already evening time. As per law, we can’t arrest a woman post sunset. Hence, the woman was arrested next day.
Cops have registered a case under relevant Sections 376 (Rape), 377 (Unnatural offences), 417 (Punishment for cheating), 504 (Intentional insult with intent to provoke breach of the peace), 506 (Criminal intimidation) and 34 (Acts done by several persons in furtherance of common intention) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) against Jangid and his wife.
