The Trinamool Congress Party, which currently leads the West Bengal government, on Friday, fired MLA Baishali Dalmiya from TMC, for speaking against parties’ policies and opposing its top-leadership.
Prior to this, Dalmiya had publicly criticized TMC’s leadership and said, “There is no place for honest and sincere people in the party.” The TMC released an official statement and wrote that TMC disciplinary committee had met on Friday afternoon and decided to expel Dalmiya from the party.
Responding to this, Dalmiya said, "I haven't received anything in writing from TMC regarding by expulsion, I got to know this from media channels."
This news broke out hours after senior TMC leader Rajib Banerjee resigned from CM Mamata Banerjee’s cabinet. As per reports, this sudden move could cost TMC huge loss in the up-coming West Bengal State Assembly elections.
