A train coach was sealed and disinfected after a 29-year-old man travelling on the train got to know that he is COVID-19 positive. The man, who was travelling from Kozhikode, was immediately deboarded and sent to hospital.
As per reports, when the train Kozhikode-Thiruvananthpuram Jan Shatabdi Express reached Ernakulam North railway station at 2 pm on Friday, D3 - the coach the man was travelling in was sealed and disinfected. While the man was sent to the hospital, his co-passengers were asked to quarantine themselves at home. Officials at the Ernakulam railway station were alerted by medical authorities when they got to know about the man's positive status.
The man got to know that he is COVID-19 positive when he received a call from Kozhikode medical authorities who had taken his swap sample earlier as the man had come in contact with a COVID-19 patient. The man had reportedly booked his train ticket to Thiruvananthpuram before the test as he had some personal emergency to attend to in Kanyakumari.
