In a shocking case, around 2,200 COVID-19 positive patients, who were tested at various government hospitals and centres, have gone missing? over the past two weeks, after rapid testing begun in Telangana.
According to sources, health and municipal authorities could not trace the patients as they had provided incorrect contact numbers and residential addresses to authorities.
Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) discovered that after government initiated supplying home isolation kits for quarantined Coronavirus affected patients, hundreds boycotted authorities, mainly with an intention to avoid social stigma. ?Every day staffers are unable to trace dozens to people whose names are included in the distribution list and are in home isolation after they tested positive in government-run facilities, Badhavath Santosh, GHMC additional commissioner of health wing told TOI.

Authorities also informed that soon after some people tested positive, they allegedly switched off their mobile phones or gave fake addresses to avoid further inquiry, while many confessed they did not want the isolation kit at their home. Moreover, they requested authorities to hand over the kits to one of their relatives place, which would not be near to their residence.
