To avoid lockdown, residents of Nashik would now have to pay ₹5 for an hour-long market visit. Deepak Pandey, Commissioner of Police, Nashik city, on Tuesday, told ANI, We are using a different approach to contain the Covid-19 spread in Nashik. We are issuing a ticket of ₹5 per person to enter a market area for an hour. It’s an attempt to save the city from entering lockdown.

A person can buy the ticket and spend one hour in the market for shopping. However, as per a report in DNA, if he/she spends more than an hour at the market, a penalty of ₹500 would be levied. But, no confirmation on the fine could be made so far.

When we spoke to Nagpur Municipal Commissioner (NMC) B Radhakrishnan, about implementing something on similar lines, he said, We’re contemplating on the same lines. We haven’t decided anything yet but we do plan to impose something like this to avoid further COVID-19 spike.

Active COVID cases near 30,000 mark in Nagpur

Nagpur’s COVID-19 tally, on Tuesday, January 25, reached 5,43,064 (till 5 pm) as 4028 (972 from rural and 2956 from city) new cases were recorded in a single day.
Also, active COVID cases, as on Tuesday, could be seen inching closer to 30,000 mark in the district.
