Three Ola cab drivers held for chain snatching in Nagpur

Three Ola cab drivers were arrested by Pratap Nagar Police on Saturday for their involvement in multiple chain snatching and bag lifting cases in Nagpur. The three-member-gang was involved in six chain snatching and two bag lifting incidents in Pratap Nagar, Sonegaon, Koradi and Beltarodi.
Those arrested have been identified as Sagar Ishwar Bhinganiya (21), a resident of Deshraj Nagar, Kaleem Mehboob Sheikh (26), a resident of Gittikhadan and Romi Gurudayal Sakhare (26), a resident of Mankapur. Pratap Nagar police also recovered a Tata Indigo Ola cab (MH 49/F/0685), a two wheeler (MH ? 40/G/9508), gold ornaments and mobile phones, collectively worth Rs 3, 94,800 from the accused.
The accused were arrested after an incident involving Kiran Kishor Kapte (60), a resident of Trimurti Nagar, came to light. When Kapte was heading to meet her friend in Sonegaon on August 4, Sagar Bhiganiya snatched her mangalsutra worth Rs 10,000 and fled in a white car.
After Kaptes complaint, when the case was being investigated, the detection squad of Pratap Nagar Police station got the information that the car used in the crime had a black roof. On checking the CCTV footage in the area, the police found the car, which had Young Force? sticker at the back. Then, the police got the tip that the car with the sticker was often seen in Mankapur.
The police ultimately traced down the car to its owner ? Salman Tahir Khan, a resident of Paloti. Salman informed that he had purchased the car a month back and had registered it with Ola. Salman also informed that the car was being driven by Kaleem Sheikh.
With Salman’s help, the police called Sheikh near the Dinshaws factory. When Sheikh arrived, he was accompanied by Romi Sakhare. On being questioned, Sheikh and Sakhare confessed to the crimes. Thereafter, Bhinganiya was nabbed. As per the confession, the three accused drivers would use the car for committing crimes.

1st COVID-19 case in Ramdaspeth crops up near Cabinet Minister Vijay Wadettiwars residence

For the first time, a resident of Ramdaspeth tested positive for Coronavirus on Saturday. The patient, who is said to be residing in an apartment near Cabinet Minister for Relief and Rehabilitation in the Maha Vikas Aghadi and senior Congress leader Vijay Wadettiwars residence (behind Tuli Imperial), is said to be a middle-aged woman.
The patient is reportedly connected to a resident from Mominpura. However, nothing concrete as of now can be said about the same. More details are awaited.

Nagpur: 91 test positive in 24 hours making COVID-19 tally rise to 1266
Nagpur COVID-19 tally as on June 20 rose to 1266 after 91 people tested positive for the virus in past 24 hours. Out of the total 91, while 69 patients belonged to Naik Talao/Bangladesh, 11 from Shantinagar, four from Lashkaribagh, three from Ganeshpeth, one from Uppalwadi, one from Ramdaspeth, one from Mehendibagh and one belonged to Mominpura.
Out of the total, 823 have been cured and over 333 are currently being treated upon.

Nagpur man discovers 4-month-old foetus in gutter; cops suspect illegal abortion
In yet another shocking incident, a resident named Rahul Tumane discovered a 4-month-old foetus lying in an abandoned condition behind his house (near plot number 13, behind Kajal Bar and Restaurant area) in Pardi inside a gutter.
Police inspector Sunil Chavan told Nation Next that a four-month-old foetus, wrapped in a cloth, was found lying inside a gutter near a house on Thursday night in Pardi. Chavan also informed that the foetus was sent for an autopsy to Mayo Hospital and the reports are awaited. Police have suspected the possibility of abandonment after an illegal abortion.
A case has been registered under Section 318 (Concealment of birth by secret disposal of a dead body) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) on the basis of a complained filed by Tumane.
