In a move to get more people vaccinated, liquor shops in Madhya Pradesh’s (MP) Mandsaur city would offer a 10% discount on country liquor to citizens, who would take the second jab of the COVID-19 vaccine on Wednesday, November 24.
The MP government would organise a mega campaign on Wednesday to cover more population under its COVID-19 vaccination programme.
It is to be noted that the 10% discount would be given on the purchase of country liquor at three shops located at Sitamau Fatak, Bhuniakhedi and Old Bus Stand, said an official.
This discount would be only given to people who would take the final jab on Wednesday.
The decision was taken to encourage people to take their second vaccine dose during the mega vaccination campaign, the official added.
If the experiment proved to be successful, it would be implemented in other parts of the district as well.
Earlier, Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan had expressed concern over people not turning up to take the second dose of the COVID-19 vaccine.
Also, the state government had set a deadline of December-end to complete the COVID-19 vaccination of all eligible people.
