South Africa wins Freedom Series as India lose second test by 135 runs

Team India lost the ongoing Freedom Series against South Africa as it lost the second test against the Proteas by 135 runs at SuperSport Park, Centurion. India started the Day 5 with 35 runs and three wickets in hand trying to chase the target of 287 runs to win the test. However, a phenomenal performance by South African bowler Lungi Ngidi, who took six wickets by conceding mere 39 runs, led to India’s defeat. India was bowled out at just 151 runs with Rohit Sharma scoring the maximum 47 runs for the side.
With this defeat, India’s nine-series winning streak has come to an end. India will play the last test match against South Africa from January 24, 2018, at The Wanderers Stadium, Johannesburg. Thereafter, the two teams will play six one-day international and three T20 matches against each other.
