Soon commuters from Nagpur to reach Mumbai in 4 hours via bullet train at 300 km/hr

In a progressive move towards developing connectivity infrastructure, commuters from Nagpur would be able to reach Mumbai in four hours via a 766 km long high-speed bullet train.
By road, it takes nearly 12 hours for commuters from Nagpur to reach Mumbai. By air, it takes less than 90 minutes. However, it is not very cost-effective for the middle class.
The proposed 766 km high-speed rail corridor between Mumbai and Nagpur is on track as the National High-Speed Rail Corporation Limited (NHSRCL) is currently preparing a Detailed Project Report (DPR) for the project.
The speed of the high-tech train would be 300 km per hour. Between Mumbai and Nagpur, it would link cities like Shahapur, Igatpuri, Nashik, Mehkar, Malegaon, Pulgaon, Wardha and Khapri.
According to officials, a series of surveys, including the lidar survey, aerial survey, social impact assessment (SIA) and environmental impact assessment (EIA), were completed for the Mumbai-Nagpur bullet train project.
The Mumbai-Nagpur Bullet Train (MNBT) project would pass through as many as 10 districts. As per officials, land acquisitions in some districts are still required.
This project would reduce travelling time from Mumbai to Nagpur by 50% and it would also be cost-effective for the locals.
