Shikhar Dhawan ruled out of ICC World Cup 2019, Rishabh Pant to replace him

Indian opener Shikhar Dhawan, who fractured his left thumb during India’s match against Australia on June 9 in ICC World Cup 2019, has been ruled out of the tournament because of the injury. Dhawan will be replaced by young wicket-keeper batsman Rishabh Pant.

The announcement was made on Wednesday by Sunil Subramaniam, Team India’s manager, who said, Following several specialist opinions, he’ll be in a cast till mid-July and is ruled out of the World Cup. Dhawan’s fracture is at the base of the first metacarpal on his left hand. We’ve requested for Rishabh Pant as a replacement.

Active COVID cases near 30,000 mark in Nagpur
Nagpur’s COVID-19 tally, on Tuesday, January 25, reached 5,43,064 (till 5 pm) as 4028 (972 from rural and 2956 from city) new cases were recorded in a single day.
Also, active COVID cases, as on Tuesday, could be seen inching closer to 30,000 mark in the district.
