Nagpur movie lovers are in for a treat as 31 movies in different languages (Hindi, Marathi, English, Japanese, Chinese, etc.) will be screened at the 2nd edition of the four-day Orange City International Film Festival (OCIFF), which is going to be organised from February 1 to February 4, 2018, in Nagpur. The festival is an extension of Pune International Film Festival and will be organised at PVR Cinemas and Kalidas Auditorium, Persistent, with support from Rashtrasant Tukdoji Maharaj Nagpur University (RTMNU) and Nagpur Municipal Corporation (NMC). The festival, this year, is a dedication to late composer C Ramchandra to celebrate his 100th birth anniversary. C Ramchandra, who composed the famous song, ‘Aye Mere Watan Ke Logo,’ in his initial days studied music at Nagpur. Many well-known personalities from the film industry will be present during the festival.

Ajey Gampawar, one of the main organsiers of the festival, while speaking to Nation Next said, “Films are not just for entertainment, they educate you as well. Such festivals are important to develop a film culture in the city and that’s exactly the reason behind organising this festival.”

The festival will be inaugurated on February 1, 2018, in the presence of renowned film director Adoor Gopalkrishnan. Gopalkrishnan, who has won more than 15 National awards till date, will also be felicitated for his contribution to cinema. Music composer Raamlaxman, who has composed music for films like Maine Pyaar Kiya and Hum Aapke Hain Koun will also be felicitated.

On February 2, 2018, film director Jabbar Patel will hold a special interaction with Gopalkrishnan. Patel, along with Samar Nakhate (Former Dean, FTII) and Abhijeet Randive (film critic), will be present on all four days of the festival. After every movie screening, viewers will get a chance to interacted with these three and discuss the film. Also, on February 2, Mohan Krishnan, from Prasad Film Labs, will hold a workshop at Persistent on post production. It will be chance for budding filmmakers to know more about the post production process once the film has been shot.

On February 3, 2018, Marathi movie Nadi Vahate will be screened at Persistent. Nadi Vahate has been directed by Sandeep Sawant, who directed the 2004 Oscar nominated Marathi movie Shwaas. The entire cast of Nadi Vahate will be present at the screening and they will be interacting with the audience.

Renowned actress Rohini Hattangadi will be present at the festival on the concluding day i.e February 4, 2018. Hattangadi will be in conversation with Ajey Gampawar in a talk show.
