Omicron: India’s tally reaches 26 after 1 tests positive in Mumbai’s Dharavi
The Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC), on Friday, December 10, confirmed that one person from the Dharavi area of Mumbai tested positive for the Omicron variant of COVID-19.
According to the (BMC), the person had returned from Tanzania and was admitted to the Seven Hills Hospital in Mumbai.
The patient is asymptomatic and is not vaccinated; currently admitted at Seven Hills Hospital, Mumbai. Two people who had come to receive the patient have been traced as well, said BMC.
As of today, there are a total of 26 active Omicron cases in India. However, none of the patients reported severe symptoms, the Central government said on Friday.
Amid global alarm over the new strain of the Coronavirus, Dr VK Paul from NITI Aayog, said, WHO is warning against the decline in mask usage. The global scene of Omicron is disturbing. We are now operating at a risky and unacceptable level. We have to remember that both vaccines and masks are important.

Active COVID cases near 30,000 mark in Nagpur

Nagpur’s COVID-19 tally, on Tuesday, January 25, reached 5,43,064 (till 5 pm) as 4028 (972 from rural and 2956 from city) new cases were recorded in a single day.
Also, active COVID cases, as on Tuesday, could be seen inching closer to 30,000 mark in the district.
